Like millions of Americans, I watched the Presidential Inauguration, aware of the history making events. But it was what I heard that resonated with me and remains implanted in my memory.
This week my thoughts turn to the dreamers of the world. Four in particular. You know who I mean, the people who see what life can be and strive to make it so.
There I was, sitting on my couch under a blanket, cup of hot tea in hand. There may have been a cookie involved. I sat watching as a couple, their designer, and contractor looked at two houses the couple could purchase.
There are days when I find myself thinking, “How did I get to this point?” My thoughts turn to all the slow unending days that magically clung together and turned into the past, which somehow flew by all too quickly. How can that be?
Hello there. You made it through the Christmas rush, what there was of it. And how do you feel? I’m pretty certain your holiday felt different, but how do you feel? I always felt like Christmas was a crazy busy end to my year, but not so much this time. Sure, it’s at the end of the calendar year, but really Christmas is all about a beginning, not an end. I just wasn’t paying attention.
How appropriate that we look at the value of time on the first day of winter. The day with the least amount of daylight. I was watching a Hallmark movie and the leading lady said that while December 21 was the shortest day, she knew each day going forward into winter would get longer and so it seemed hopeful. It was a nice take on what might otherwise be a gloomy day.
