It Changes Me

Linda Soller | Aug 01, 2016

I am gradually learning to go to God in all things. It’s been hard at times to think He wants to hear about the small stuff when He obviously has plenty to do. But you know the more diligent I become in my communication with God the more I realize there is nothing too small for Him.

I once said to someone I love, “Going to church for me was like going to therapy.”  I was not belittling therapy. I was simply recognizing all I gained from my church, my interactions with fellow Christians, and my faith.  I am challenged to be better, kinder, more caring, and more committed. I am not there because someone pays me to be. I am not there because it’s the glamorous thing to do. When I am there I learn to better understand my motivations, strengths, and my vulnerabilities. I go because I believe, and in believing I find great comfort and strength. It truly helps me know myself better while getting to know God better. It changes me.

With all the terrible things we face in our world we all need to be strong. There is hardly a day that goes by when we are free to enjoy it without awareness of tragedy and turmoil. We can become frustrated because as individuals we often feel unable to change ourselves, not to mention the world we live in. Communication with God is key to bringing about change in yourself, and our world. Fundamental to faith is knowing He is in all things and wants to hear from you always. He wants your questions, concerns, gratitude, and your frustrations. He can handle it.

Make a change this week!    : o)  Linda
