I want to believe in demons. I really want to believe there is something evil that enters people and makes them do the horrific things we hear about in the news.
I think the actual expression is “the Devil is in the details”, but you know how sayings can evolve. We ended our Drop-In classes for September on the topic of why people attend Sunday School, in particular the adults.
One thing we humans are really good at is forgetting. We forget to say thank you, to hold doors, to follow our diets, to do our exercise, to pay our bills, and many other things.
It was supposed to just be a beauty pageant. Smart, talented, beautiful women competing to be Miss America, but during the questions and answers there were several clear calls for civility and love from the contestants.
My philosophy on dieting has always been to start a diet when I see a negative change in my weight. For me a negative change usually means an increase in pounds. Strange the way that works.
In the Drop-In Class, we often talk about recognizing when God calls us to serve. Many choose to try and ignore God. Surely, we know how we can serve Him the best.
