I think the way I feel is much like a deflated balloon. Not long ago I was full of energy, excitement, and anticipation. As crazy as the holidays can be I bounced and bobbed around getting things done, flitting from here to there and back again.
Ever known a person who just had to have the final word? Even if what they were saying made no sense. I thought maybe you did. Those same people are often the ones who have their minds made up before the conversation even starts.
I heard on the radio as I drove to work that the Time Magazine “Person of the Year” had been announced. Having seen the list under consideration the day before I was anxious to see their decision. On my computer I saw where “The Guardians” had been selected. I felt pure joy.
There is an expression, “Them there are fighting words!” which refers to words used to stir up trouble and/or to bring someone to anger. In the movies the follow-up action might be a fight in the saloon of an old western town.
I would like to look at several topics over the next few weeks. The first is the current, common, but not universal opinion that if it fine to say whatever you want, when you want.
I have to say I truly love the Thanksgiving holiday. There is no gift giving involved, you spend time with friends and family, the food is great, and you focus on all the things you are thankful for. The truth is, staying thankful is not always easy.
