In his book “How to Be Rich” Andy Stanley makes the point that most of us in America are already rich. Stanley says “If you earn more than $37,000 a year, you are in the top 4 percent of wage earners in the world!” Take a moment to think about that fact. Most of us would turn down a job that only paid us $37,000 a year, yet to make as much puts us better off than 96 percent of the world. Stanley goes on to explain that yes we are rich but we don’t have to feel guilty about it. Instead of feeling guilty we should simply be thankful. When we are grateful for what we have instead of disappointed about what we don’t have, we are more likely to be generous. So let’s realize that in the grand scheme of things we are Rich! Let’s become grateful for all that we have and allow our gratefulness to move us to become better givers and draw us closer to becoming the generous people God longs for us to be. Don’t forget to pray about your pledge cards!
