Our New Pastor!
We welcome the Reverend K Scarry as our senior pastor! She was elected unanimously by our members at the June 28,2026 business meeting.
K needs no introduction. She grew up in this church and has preached here on numerous occasions in the past few years. Since January, she has served as our month-to-month interim pastor.
She will work part-time and will post her office hours so you can stop by to chat. She will continue other part-time consulting work, much of it for faith-based entities, all of it aimed at helping people through challenging times by relying on biblical principles.
K graduated from Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, PA, in 2013. She received her Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC, in 2020. She was ordained by First Baptist Church in 2021.
K’s ministry to the community includes officiating weddings and funerals and working with organizations (both local and out-of-state) dealing with change or conflict. She has served as a prison chaplain, a police chaplain, and a participant in The People’s Supper.
?She and her husband, Jake Killian, live in Herndon.
As the Pastor Search Committee said in announcing K’s nomination, “We feel her unique experiences will make people even more comfortable with our church, expand our connections to the greater family of God, and help our church reach out into our community to serve God on a regular basis better”.
