Congratulations to ELL
Now in its fifth year, the English Language Learning Program continues to grow. At their recent graduation celebration, 27 students who completed the spring semester received certificates. That is the largest number of students to receive certificates in the program’s history!
Kudos to all the wonderful volunteers who make this program a success – Loyda Aponte, Dot Chamber, Margie Henry, Regina Fosstvedt, Becky Phelps, Daniel Santos, and Linda Soller from First Baptist, plus Maria LaWait, a volunteer from the Yarn Yarn Sisterhood knitting group; Sally White, Bill Bouffard, and Bill Richey, volunteers from the Secular Franciscans, FBC’s partners in the endeavor. The Herndon Moose Lodge is a consistent financial supporter.
Another round of classes will begin September 1, 2026. Registration will be 6-8 p.m. August 25 & 26, 2026 here at the church. Flyers announcing the classes will be distributed in Herndon, and information about the classes will be posted on our church website and the Town of Herndon website.
