Welcome to Our New Interim Pastor
The Deacon Board has voted unanimously to call K Scarry as our interim pastor beginning in January 2026. She will serve on a month-to-month basis until our new senior pastor arrives. Our current interim pastor, Dr. David N. Peppler, is leaving to pursue a call to full-time pastoring. Dave served as our interim pastor from Aug. 4, 2024, until the end of this month, preaching most Sundays; guiding us through a process to define who we are, what we believe, and where we are headed; and working closely with the Pastor Search Committee and the Deacon Board.
K grew up here at First Baptist. She is a 2013 graduate of Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, PA, and completed her Master of Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. in 2020. First Baptist ordained her into the ministry in 2021. She has preached here on numerous occasions.
In addition to regular Sunday preaching, K’s duties as interim will include visitation, community outreach, working with the Deacon Board and other committees, and any special projects that may come up. She will establish office hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
