Sign up to work at The Closet anytime from 10 am to 5 pm.
The Closet Board of Directors approved grants totaling about $18,500 to the following organizations at its quarterly meeting in January 2019: Loudoun Literacy Countil; O.A.R.-Breaking the Cycle of Crime with Opportunities, Alternatives and Resources; Women Giving Back; Herndon-Reston F.I.S.H.; Northern Virginia Dental Clinic and Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Program. Additional funds were put into The Closet Scholarship Fund for students graduating from Herndon, South Lakes, Oakton, Mountain View and Park View high schools; so far, we've set aside $20,000 for this important program. The Closet also approved $15,000 in benevolence contributions to member congregations as a way of extending its reach even further into the community; this will amount to $750 per congregation.
The Closet is able to support our local community via grants and scholarships because of people like you, who donate, volunteer and shop at our nonprofit thrift store. If you haven't been to The Closet lately, come check us out at 845 Station Street. There's plenty of parking in the back or on the street and there's lots of treasures inside-not just clothing, but fine china, kitchen wares, lamps, electronics, toys and vintage items of all sorts. In addition to helping the community with your volunteer hours and donations to The Closet, you can shop and know that your purchaes help the community!
