There are times these days when I can hardly stand to watch the news or read it. And it has nothing to do with if the news is fake or real.
Last week I spoke to my rule #1 – Know the Rules. This week I would like to move on to rule #2. Rule #2 is “if you break the rules, know you are responsible for the consequences.”
Rule #1 to me is pretty straight forward, it is “know the rules.” Take driving for example. As crazy as most of us find the roads and traffic we all know there are rules.
A person I respect once said to me, “the need for joy in a congregation is highly overrated.” I thought he was wrong when he said it, and I still think he is wrong.
You know you don’t have to hug a tree to demonstrate an appreciation of the natural world around you. But did you know that tree hugging as a political statement goes back to the early 1700s when people in Bishnoi villages in India literally hugged the trees in their village so the government would not chop them all down?
