Best New Year Ever

Happy New Year! I have had a challenging two weeks trying to connect two big holidays with the posting of this blog. Christmas and New Years can both be life changing events.  You may not read the blog on a Monday, but it’s posted each Monday. What could I offer worth your time on such special days?

The worship committee at FBC decided that the advent lessons Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love deserved more time than just the four weeks in December. To help their congregation embrace and focus on these four monumental topics, a decision was made to look at each topic again in January. Taking it one step further, members of the congregation contributed to a booklet of devotions for the month. I was one of those fortunate people asked to contribute. The topics were inspiring, I couldn’t say no.

Now here it is, New Year’s Day, and I ask myself how can I start this new year of blogs off in a positive direction? You know I’m all about being positive. I asked myself, why not share my devotionals?  I answered, why not indeed? So, for the next four weeks you will be sharing devotionals with the FBC congregation. You may not know them by face or name, but you will be part of their family. You may be feeling small in a big world, but you will be part of something bigger than any one person. I hope you will feel the Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love as you read and consider each devotional over the coming weeks.

Today is New Year’s Day, let it be the beginning of your best year ever!
