Back Again

Back to school, back to work, back to reality - seems like everyone is going back to something. Not everyone reacts the same way to going back. Many, not all, children are less than thrilled about going back to school while the parents of those children are more often than not very happy about the start of the school year. By the time those same children are in college they are usually glad to be going back and it is Mom and Dad who are sad. Going back to work can be great if you were unemployed, have been missing work due to illness, or were snowed in with a house full of sick kids, pets, and low food supplies. Then again, going back to work after a great vacation may not be so appealing. What am I saying? It is never fun to return to work after a great vacation. Back to reality usually means facing challenges and some harsh truths that fill our daily lives; it can be exhausting.
Sunday September 16th is National Back to Church Sunday. Did you know that? This is the fourth year for this huge community program that hopes to make it more comfortable for people to return to church, and to make those who have never been to church feel more comfortable to test it out. You could be one of those people. Maybe you have memories of going to church. Those memories may be good or they could be bad. On the 16th you can select any church and show up and there will probably be others there just like you. Maybe you have never been to church, but you think you know what it will be like and that is why you don’t go. Well here is your chance to check it out without obligation. Like test driving a car. It is not like you can’t go back to church any Sunday you want, but on the 16th the chances are greater you won’t be the lone visitor on the pew.
ometimes when we face going back it can be intimidating. Sometimes we let our imagination take control and we chose to stay in our comfort zone instead of going back. Sometimes by going back we get a chance to go forward. Who knows, by going back once you may just find yourself going back again. Have a great week :o)
